Accommodation

The Vita-Salute San Raffaele University has 2 student dormitory buildings – “Cascina Melghera” and “Cassinella”, with 174 bedrooms. The Cascina residence is next to the university, while Cassinella is around 20 minutes away.

Both buildings offer single rooms with private bathrooms and furniture for your needs. There are also communal areas for leisure time and other needs like breakfast, study, conference and laundry rooms, gym, and recreation room.

The rent for the student dorms is paid annually at once or in 3 installments. It includes renting a room and using all the shared facilities, as well as utilities. The room does not have meals. A room in the Cascina Melghera will cost you €10,500 per year, and a Cassinella’s room will cost you €7,000.

Living in Milan has an average monthly cost of €1500, including rent, utilities, leisure time, and living expenses. But still, it’s all up to your living standards and how much you will need per month. If you rent an apartment outside the center, it will cost you €730, but if you prefer to live in the heart of Milan, you will need €1,200.

Vita-Salute San Raffaele University Admission & Entry Requirements

What is essential about admission here is that the entrance test is not the IMAT examination, unlike most Italian medical universities. It is a university version with different dates, registrations, and modalities. The test consists of 60 questions in English, 36 of which are logical and problem-solving, and 24 from Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics, and Physics. Candidates have 80 minutes to complete it.

This exam is the only means of selection, and the ranking is based only on the score from it. It doesn’t matter if you have bad grades on your high school diploma, they will not be calculated in your ranking score.

Term Dates

The academic year starts at the beginning of October, and the first semester lasts until the end of February. There are 2 weeks of winter holidays. The second semester begins in March and ends in July.

Address

Via Olgettina, 58, 20132 Milano MI, Italy.
