A standardized pathology report for gastric cancer: 2nd edition

Abstract Gastric cancer (GC) is the fifth most commonly diagnosed cancer and has the fourth-highest mortality rate worldwide. Although the incidence and mortality rates of GC have decreased markedly during the past 50 years, Korean cancer registry data show that GC was still the most diagnosed cancer in 2018 . The Gastrointestinal Pathology Study Group (GIPSG) of the Korean Society of Pathologists developed the first edition of ‘A Standardized Pathology Report for Gastric Cancer’ in 2005 to give pathologists a standard reporting format for GC diagnosis in daily practice .Considerable changes in the pathology of GC have happened since then,
