Accommodation Costs

Our experience throughout the years has provided us with valuable insight in the real estate field with which we will help you find the best accommodation for you.

Student Accommodation

The university offers dormitory accommodation but gives preference to students with Romanian citizenship. That’s why most international students prefer to rent an apartment near the university.

A month’s rent for a single-bedroom apartment will cost you between €300 and €450 depending on how close you are to the city center. For the better part of international students, this price is affordable as it’s below the European average. Plus, you will have the comfort of privacy and fewer distractions studying at home. Other living expenses, including leisure activities, will cost you around €550 per month.

For spending free time, Cluj-Napoca offers a wide variety of activities for both daytime and nightlife. Here you can find numerous museums, cinemas, theatres, clubs, bars, shopping centres, and sports facilities.

Iuliu Hatieganu University Admission & Entry Requirements

Students must have good grades in Biology and Chemistry and a third subject in their high school certificate, e.g. A-levels, Baccalaureate, final leaving certificate etc. Students who have not yet received their final certification can apply with their results sheet if they have it before the deadline.

Students must apply as soon as possible since an early application allows more time to build a strong application file. Applications are currently open for 2020 entry at the Medical University of Cluj. Apply so one of our advisors can contact you with more information. Students must submit their documents to Medlink Students before mid-July at the very latest. Admission results are posted on the Medical University’s website on 1 August.

There is no entrance exam for students from English-speaking countries. Applicants from non-English speaking countries sit for an exam in English at Cluj Medical University, assessing the grammar and proficiency of their English language skills.

Applicants from non-English speaking countries must have an English language proficiency certificate of B2 level. We will prepare a solid application file for you so you have a competitive advantage over other medicine or dentistry applicants.

The application period is normally between 4 May and 30 July.

About Iuliu Hațieganu University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Cluj-Napoca, Romania

The Faculty of Medicine was founded in 1919, and it was then part of the University of Cluj. In 1948 it became an independent Medico-Pharmaceutical institute with 5 different faculties: Medicine, Paediatrics, Stomatology, Pharmacy and Hygiene, but the latter lasted only for 10 years.
