Life as a Medical Student in Bucharest, Romania

According to some scholars, Bucharest means “city of joy”, and the majority of international students agree wholeheartedly with this interpretation. Young people have plenty of opportunities for entertainment due to the rich local music scene and the many nightclubs and stages.

Actually, Bucharest has had rich traditions in its nightlife since medieval times. Ironically, the city first came to prominence as the citadel of Vlad III the Impaler, who is now famous in popular culture as Count Vlad Dracula. However, Romanians celebrate him as a hero and protector of the people who brought safety to a troubled land.

Speaking of safety, Bucharest is one of the most secure capitals in Europe. The city has very low levels of crime, and locals feel at ease while taking strolls at night at the local parks.
