Accommodation

The University of Zagreb doesn’t provide accommodation for international students. Every student must rent their accommodation here. We know how hard it is to be in a new place and looking for the perfect housing. That’s why Medlink Student will help you find the perfect place to live according to your standards and budget.

Living on your own in Zagreb will cost you around €900 monthly. A 1-bedroom apartment in the city center is around €450 and outside – about €350. For basic utilities and transportation, you will spend €200 on average. Expenses for food and leisure time are up to you, but €350 would be enough.

University of Zagreb School of Medicine Admission & Entry Requirements

Due to the different grading systems in countries around the globe, this university requires an evaluation of secondary school grades as a criterion for admission. You will have to pass the written exams in Biology, Chemistry, and Physics.

The test consists of 120 questions, with 40 questions per subject. To pass the exam, you need at least 15 right answers in each section and an overall score of more than 61 correct answers. 

The University does exceptions for the following:

  • Students who have completed a pre-medical college or passed internationally recognized exams like the MCAT with a minimum score of 125 for each section;
  • Students who have earned BA/BSc degrees in natural sciences with good credits in Biology, physics, and chemistry;
  • Students who have taken SAT in biology, physics, and chemistry with a minimum score of 600 in each subject;
  • Students who have taken the BMAT test.

Also, you will need to show proof of English knowledge in case the student’s mother tongue language is not English or the student hasn’t done his education fully in English.

Term Dates

The academic year starts at the end of September, and the winter term ends in the third week of January. The exam session is held from the 15th of January until the 19th of February. 

The summer semester begins in the last week of February and ends at the beginning of June. The examination period takes place during June and the first week of July.

There are several days off and breaks around the holidays.
