Accommodation

The University of Tartu has 4 dormitories available for international students in the city of Tartu near the main building of the school. The facilities consist of single and double rooms fully furnished with beds, desks, chairs, wardrobes, and shelves. There are shared showers and toilets on each floor, separated for males and females.

The rent includes all the utilities, the use of the laundry rooms, and all the common facilities in the building. Table tennis and leisure time rooms are available on the first floor of each building. The monthly rent for a place in a double room is €150, and for a single room it is €200.

Living on your own in Tartu costs around €1,000 per month. Private 1-bedroom apartment costs between €300 and €400 per month. For electricity, heating, water, and Internet, you will pay up to €250/month. Food and leisure time are based on your standards, but on average, a student spends no more than €350-400 monthly.

University of Tartu Admission & Entry Requirements

The admission score is ranked based on the applicants’ results on the international entrance test (70% of the final score) and the score of the motivation letter (30% of the final score).  Also, they have to provide an English certificate. 

Term Dates

The academic year begins on the 1st of September and the autumn semester finishes at the end of January. Shortly after, the 8th of February is the start of the spring semester. It continues until the end of June.
