If the university decides to change these fees, they will notify all students 6 months before the start of the academic year. Also, there’s a student ID fee which is about €50.

Accommodation

The University of Rzeszów offers 5 dormitories with more than 1,000 beds in fully-equipped single, double and triple rooms. Every two rooms share a common hall and bathroom. The rooms are connected to the TV and Internet network. There is an internal phone for free calls to the other buildings of the university.

Every floor of the dormitory has a shared kitchen with 3 countertops, an oven, and a microwave. The kitchens and the halls are equipped with LEDs switched on by movement. In the basements, you will find leisure rooms with billiards, rooms for occasional events, and ping-pong tables. TV, laundry, and study rooms are also shared by all of the students in the building.

If you decide to live on your own in Rzeszow, your monthly rent for a one-bedroom apartment will be between €300 and €400. Your monthly utilities and living expenses will be around €450, according to your needs.

The University of Rzeszów, Faculty of Medicine Admission & Entry Requirements

To apply to this university, you will need a high school diploma and at least a B2 level of English proficiency. Students will be assessed based on their grades from high school and results from their Certificate of Secondary Education examination at the ordinary or advanced level in Biology or Chemistry.

Additionally, students will need to participate in an interview that will assess their knowledge of Biology, Chemistry, Physics and English.

Life as a Medical Student in Rzeszow, Poland

Rzeszow is among the smaller regional cities in Poland. It is located in the Southeastern parts of the country, and it’s relatively close to Krakow. Rzeszow straddles the Wislok River and many parks, pedestrian walks, and bike lanes along the water. The city is quite green, and there is even a nature reserve within it. Thus, lovers of nature will certainly enjoy living in it.

Rzeszow’s centre is well preserved, and it has many neoclassical buildings from the end of the 19th century. Students love to spend time in the city square with its many restaurants, bars, and shops. There are also several large shopping malls like Respan, Center Park, and Galeria Rzeszów shopping centres, Moreover, most theatres, galleries, and museums are within walking distance. Thus, the city square is an excellent place to start or end the night.

Additionally, a number of nature reserves are just a few miles from the city. The tranquil Lipie fishing pond makes for a perfect spot to unwind, while the Zablocie reserve offers scenic trails waiting to be explored.

Term Dates

The winter semester starts at the beginning of October and lasts until the end of January, with a 2-week Christmas holiday. The semester is followed by a 2-week examination period.

The summer semester starts at the end of February and continues until the middle of June. There is a 1-week Easter break. The semester ends with a 3-week examination period.

The University of Rzeszów was officially established in 2001, combining several older institutions. Nowadays, the university is hosting more than 22,000 students in 10 faculties. It is located in the largest city of Southeastern Poland – Rzeszow.

The city is situated on both sides of the Wislok River in the Sandomierz Basin. The town received its city rights and privileges 7 centuries ago, in 1354, from Casimir III the Great. Being a tremendous historical heritage, the city has more than 180,000 citizens and is home to some of Poland’s best universities.
