About Akaki Tsereteli State University
Akaki Tsereteli State University was established in 1930 in Tbilisi but later moved to Kutaisi. It is a public higher education institution and nowadays, the university has 9 faculties in different areas of education.
Kutaisi is the third-most populated city in Georgia with more than 140,000 inhabitants. An interesting fact about it is that Kutaisi is one of the oldest continuously inhabited cities in the World. The city has many ancient buildings and monuments that every tourist dreams to visit, and is home to several Georgian Medical universities that attract hundreds of international students annually.
The university doesn’t offer a graduate entry route and doesn’t accept student transfers.

» Application date : March to October every year
» Invitation letter : 2-3 weeks
Main steps :
» Step 1: Students must complete out an online application form along with the necessary paperwork.
» Step 2: As soon as the university receives the application, it issues an offer letter. Students can put their fees into the university's bank account.
» Step 3: After 30 days, the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia delivers an accreditation letter to the students. Subsequently, the institution receives a ministry order and sends the students an invitation letter.
» Step 4: After the above process is finished, the approval of a visa takes 30 days.

The university offers a dormitory near the campus and at a reasonable price with a total capacity of 80 students. You can rent a bed in a double or triple room with a private bathroom. The rent per month for a triple room is around €170 per person and for a double room is €230.
Living on your own in Kutaisi is affordable and offers many options. A one-bedroom apartment in the city centre is around €130 per month. If you prefer to live with friends or roommates, a 3-bedroom apartment is at the price of around €200. Other expenses like utilities and food will cost you around an additional €200 monthly.
Accreditation
The university is listed in the World Directory of Medical Schools. It is a member of the World Health Organisation, IAUP, AMEE and AMSE. After receiving your diploma, you will be allowed to practise everywhere in Europe and other countries around the globe.
Term Dates
The Autumn Term here starts in mid-September and lasts until February.
The Spring semester starts in March and finishes in mid-July.
Both terms are followed by examination periods.
