Description
Hydrogel Breast Pads – Instant Relief for Sore Nipples
What do Hydrogel Breast Pads do?
Hydrogel Breast Pads provide instant cooling relief and create the ideal environment for sore nipples to repair and heal. The soft fabric backing eliminates any friction from clothes and prevents any further damage allowing you to quickly get back to nursing your new baby without discomfort.
Why should I purchase Hydrogel Breast Pads?
WHO recommends babies are exclusively breastfed for the first six months. However, we know breastfeeding isn’t easy for all, and one of the most common complaints initially is sore nipples. Unfortunately, this is a common reason why many new mums stop breastfeeding. By eliminating the sore nipples, breastfeeding becomes easier and more enjoyable, allowing both mum and baby to reap the benefits.
Note:
- The pads are not absorbent so you will need to use regular breast pads / nursing pads as well to absorb leaking milk.
- If you wish, you can store the Hydrogel Breast Pads in the fridge for extra cooling effect.
- The pads are non toxic and are safe to use on even the most sensitive skin.
- Can also be used for other minor wounds.

Why do I get sore nipples?
The most common cause for sore nipples is an imperfect latch. This is more common than you may think and will affect many new mums, including those who have breastfed successfully multiple times before. Every breastfeeding journey is different.
There is help available with breastfeeding your new baby, ask your midwife, health visitor, breastfeeding specialist or call the national helpline, they will be trained to help with good positioning and can recommend ways to make your experience more enjoyable for both you and your baby. We also recommend you have your new baby checked for tongue tie as this is something that can be corrected and does not have to spoil your breastfeeding journey. If you are unhappy with the advice you have been given about breastfeeding, please approach someone else.
There are also other reasons why you may have sore nipples including thrush, in which case you should not use Hydrogel Breast Pads as they will not improve the condition and could make it worse.
