Kokoso Baby is the organic skincare brand started by Lauren when she was a new mum looking for a natural solution for her little one’s sensitive skin. She discovered the wonders of raw virgin coconut oil and quickly became passionate about its many amazing skincare benefits and uses.
- It all started with a little girl called Seren. Whilst caring for her super sensitive skin, her mum had a rather nutty business idea
- It took a year of searching for the perfect coconut oil (and welcoming our second daughter) before we launched Kokoso Baby in 2014
- In 2016, Lauren and husband Mark appeared on Dragons’ Den and successfully gained investment to grow the brand

Why Kokoso Baby Coconut Oil?Coconut oil is an amazingly versatile, pure and ultra-gentle way of caring for your baby’s skin, scalp and hair. For centuries in the tropics, generations of families have used this natural wonder oil to keep skin happy and nourished. Raw virgin coconut oil contains naturally occurring Vitamins A and E as well as a unique combination of medium-chain fatty acids. This includes lauric acid, a magical healing agent also found in breast milk. These special fatty acids are made up of teeny, easily absorbable molecules that sink in deep to soothe, hydrate and leave skin feeling beautifully baby-soft, not greasy. |
We choose our coconuts carefullyFrom the tree to your baby, a huge amount of care goes into making our perfect pots of award-winning coconut oil. Our premium organic coconuts come from a variety that’s unique to the region of Thailand they grow in (which we like to think makes them extra special). We use only sustainable, organic farming methods on our ethical family-run farm, where the coconuts grow for around 12 months to ensure they’re packed with skin-loving vitamins and nutrients. |
Glowy not greasyAfter being cracked open, our coconuts are hand-checked and cold-pressed within three hours to retain all of the goodness. They then go through an ultra-cold extraction process designed by a university professor. This creates an oil that’s more lightweight than others so its nourishing natural goodness absorbs quicker without leaving skin feeling greasy. Lastly, the oil is triple filtered to ensure it’s pristinely pure. This all happens in state-of-the-art facilities. |
Giving backIn 2020, Kokoso Baby was incredibly proud to be one of 19 British brands and retailers selected to work with the Duchess of Cambridge and help support vulnerable families in the UK. Collectively, we donated over 10,000 new items to more than 40 baby banks nationwide. |

Coconut oil naturally melts when warmIf the coconut oil inside your Kokoso Baby pot looks uneven or ‘half full’, don’t fret! It has simply melted and reset again when the pot was at an angle. This can cause the coconut oil inside to form natural shapes, uneven surfaces and spaces – all of which are completely natural. |
It becomes solid again when coolIn this picture, the coconut oil has melted and reset when the pot was upside down in transit, causing a space to form underneath the surface. We can assure you that each pot is weighed and fully sealed with 168g (or 70g) of pure organic goodness inside – the equivalent of 3 x coconuts! |
