Rose and Frankincense Face CreamA Handcrafted Natural Anti-Ageing face balm. Using carefully selected essential oils of Rose, Frankincense, Geranium and Lavender, I have created this lovely scented oil based face cream. Made with the intention to help fight signs of skin ageing and nurture dry to combination skin, I paired the soothing oil of Rose with the skin saviour Frankincense to create this light and creamy facial moisturiser.

Rose and Frankincense Face SerumMade to accompany the Face Cream. I created this little facial oil to accompany my Rose & Frankincense face cream and is an intense and highly hydrating yet very light serum that I personally like to apply just before bed. Made with intention to help combat the onset of ageing, this serum pairs two of my favourite essential oils of Rose and Frankincense and a little drop of geranium as well as a collection of other lovely natural ingredients. The base of this serum is a blend of a Sweet Almond Oil, that has been infused for over a month with roses and lavender to release their beneficial properties and blended with jojoba and coconut oil giving it a very light and silky feel. Like my Rose and Frankincense face cream, a little goes a long way and just a couple of drops each evening before bed can leave you glowing!

Frankincense essential oil has wonderful detoxing and cleansing properties. When used over lymph nodes, frankincense helps drain and cleanse them. Frankincense’s anti-inflammatory properties also help reduce redness and puffiness. And frankincense promotes cell regeneration and growth, which can help reduce appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. |

It improves subcutaneous circulation, which, in turn, helps skin tissue regeneration and smoothing of wrinkles. Geranium oil anti-inflammatory and also has a skin lightening effect |

Lavender oil can aid in evening skin tone since it reduces inflammation. It can reduce discoloration, including dark spots. Lavender oil helps lessen blotchiness and redness. If you have hyperpigmentation on your skin, lavender oil may be able to help with that as well. |

My name is Holly – and I am the founder of The Ilex Wood.
Let me tell you a little bit about myself and the ethos behind the products I create.
I am a strong believer in the powers of plants and create my own herbal oil infusions that make the base of my products.
I believe that simplicity is key when it comes to skin care, an effective and quality product with no more than 10 natural ingredients with no padding or water can be created; to form an active concentrated end product with desired results.
Ever since I was young, I have been obsessed with nature. Growing up in the countryside and being a farmer’s daughter meant I spent a great deal of time outdoors, learning about the power of plants.
Unable to find any purely natural products in the stores (many market themselves as natural but check the labels and look out for the cheap padding and water (aqua)!), I took to creating my own using the plant knowledge I gained to create effective and luxurious skin care products.
Compact design with sustainable packaging
All of The Ilex Wood products are packed in sustainable packaging (either glass or aluminium), even plastic is avoided, and for transportation to fulfilment centres in recycled cardboard boxes.
The products are all natural using waterless technology, with no man made chemicals or petrochemicals, no palm oil and no damaging the environment artificial chemicals.
